CURE-SORT reading material

The following are available from CURE-SORT for a suggested donation (in parenthesis) to cover postage and printing

When Someone on the Sex Offender Registry Moves Into My Neighborhood
(Member Price $5; Non-Member Price $ 10)
Is a guide which provides a road map which may be helpful in reaching the ultimate goal -- safety for everyone involved.  It advocates open dialogue with those in the neighborhood who seek a positive outcome, sharing of relevant information about the nature of the registrant’s offenses, and an understanding of current research.  These can be critical tools in helping to overcome anxiety and in breaking down barriers between the registrant and the neighborhood.

The guide had its origins in a Midwestern town where a concerned mother wanted to know what to do when a registered sex offender moved into her neighborhood. Thanks to Executive Wayne Bowers’ advice, and this mother’s careful documentation of her neighborhood’s experience (Click here to read 'In My Neighborhood -A Mother's Story'),  we can present a working model as the foundation of our guide. The guide is a sensitive and long-needed approach to re-entry issues for registrants and their neighbors.

We are also pleased to offer the following resources. Donations accepted to cover cost of postage and printing.
